Lovin’ Jelly the Pug!

Today was Lexi’s preschool class photo and unlike last year I remembered and made sure she wore a dress.  Staying true to the fall photo she wore a “Jelly the Pug” dress.  I’ve had it in the closet for at least two months after buying it for a steal from Zulilly!  It was totally cute!  We went to the grocery store on the way home and so many people commented on how cute she was and even one woman made sure she found out the brand for her daughter. I had to take some photos once we got home and Lexi generously obliged.

And then she had to change into jeans to play with the Coconut!  Coconut made up a new game today which makes Lexi chase her…. she’s so smart!

By the way…

the poor Easter Sunflower Peep Cake….

Lexi and I got it baked but by the time everyone arrived on Saturday, she had NO INTEREST in finishing it.  So Britt finished it.  It was awesome but yet, once again no one ate it!  So here it is just before I trashed it (I ate a few Peeps… but mostly it was made in the name of tradition and in the end a waste).

Annual Easter Fun!

We had the family over today for Easter (a day early but more convenient for everyone even though we were missing Daddy due to tax-season deadlines.  Of course we had to make the Peep Sunflower cake.  Each year Lexi does more and more in the process without help.  Who knows by next year she may make the entire thing on her own!

This year Lexi colored eggs made from kool-aid!  (much less worrisome!)

After lunch, we had an egg hunt for the kids (and of course, Coconut thinks she is a kid too!).  It was a great fun day for family!  I wish I had taken more pictures!

Puppy Love??

Why do puppies love shoes?

Coconut so makes us miss Sable when we see her do this.  That said, she is fitting in really well and I think Sable would approve.

Gardening is SERIOUS business!

We have a replacement for Lexi’s worn out wagon!  It’s a mostly worn out wheelbarrow from my Dad.  His was starting to rust through so last year on his birthday we got him a new one and shamelessly claimed the old one for Lexi.  So we planted some flowers and one strawberry plant in it!  Lexi calls it her garden and we plan to keep it going for a very long time!

Spring Break ~ Day 3

Who wouldn’t want to wake up to “I want chocky-milk and t-B”!  I’d prefer to have it come later in the morning but still it’s good, very good!  I had a dr. appt. today (as most teachers do on days off) so Lexi was with Mom much of the day but this afternoon… Coconut got a work out with Lexi and the boys!

Coconut is certainly a perfect new addition to the family!  Even Sable would approve.  Now if only we could convince Mean Muffin to leave the puppy alone!

Oh and did I mention… we will most likely need more skirts, shorts, dresses, and sand for the sand box since Coconut is SUCH a Puppy!  She totally put holes in Lexi’s skort today!  But still… she is such a great sport with little kids!

Spring Break Day 2 ~ Slow and Easy just like we like it!

Lexi and I didn’t manage to get much done today except some laundry and a little housework.  Mostly we played with the puppy.  At naptime all three of us piled into bed and took a nap. That’s quite an accomplishment for a Mom, 4 year old and a puppy!  After naptime, we went to Mom’s to get Daddy’s old wheelbarrow.  Lexi and I want to plant in it.  But once we got home, I had to attend to dinner so we didn’t get as far as planting.

I’m really proud of little Lj!  I’ve been cooking lighter lately and she’s been a champ.  She’s tried everything and has loved it all. Who knew I could get her to eat a fruity chicken salad!  And tonight, she ate grilled shrimp with zucchini “tots”.  (Another find from Pinterest!)

After dinner, we were running short on time so I asked Lexi to give the dog a bath.  She jumped right on that!  The puppy is so tiny and not smelly or even really dirty for that matter but we want to get her used to getting baths regularly as well as being brushed.  So Lexi and Coconut took a bath!  I have to say, Coconut took it all in stride!  She even got bathed in Lexi’s Dora soap!

Now, Lj’s in bed, Coconut is sleeping next to me and I’m about to call it a night myself!
