It's hard to believe 2010 is here! Geoff said today that today is the first day of the first entire year we will have with Lexi. I hadn't thought of it that way but it's true. I can say for sure that this New Year is certainly different from the last. Our lives are full of love, happiness, and joy and anticipation of a great year with Lexi.
We spent today with Grandma and Grandpa Smith. They came early for breakfast and stayed until just before dark. Lexi had a great time with them and we had a really nice visit. Lexi found some more dancing partners for her Christmas tree so they have been inducted into the Lexi's Dance Hall of Fame. Beware... all visitors get to be be bossed and must dance with shoes off! LOL!
Lexi was worn out by the time they left to go back up to SC. Today was the first day we didn't put Lexi down for her scheduled nap. I knew they were not going to be here long and if I did put her down she would sleep 2-3 hours so I just keep watching her for signs of sleepiness. Well, as soon as they left she became grumpy. Geoff was heading to the store to buy a few fire logs and took her along. He said she was asleep in no time and then he had to carry her around the store on his shoulder! She came in still asleep but would not let us lay her down without crying so we held her for about 45 minutes as she grabbed a nap. The only thing that really made her happy after she woke up was a bath. So first lesson learned on the first day of the year... stick to the routine! We're letting her stay up a little later now to make up for the late nap! But oh well, at least she enjoyed her day with Grandma and Grandpa!
And here's a few more pictures of cuteness to make anyone reading smile! You can't look at this face and not smile! And here's to a great New Year!
