Lexi Goes to “Biby School”

This morning was the first day of Vacation Bible School at our church.  Lexi is able to go at age 2 because I’m working in the kitchen helping with the snacks.  She was very excited when I told her she was going!  So we got ready and headed out the door this morning.  She was so excited to be going that she even willingly let me take a few pictures of her on the way out!  She was really excited about taking her new book bag with her “stuff” in it.  We have already bought one with her name on it for her preschool days next school year.  I dropped her off and she was a bit reluctant at first until the lady handed her a handful of play dough.  So I slipped off and went to work.  We were so busy that I didn’t get a chance to even peek in on her.  The woman I was working with did see her though when she took them their snacks in their room.  She said Lexi was playing with everyone and was doing just fine.

When I picked her up, she was sitting politely playing with some other children waiting for pickup.  When she saw me, she came running screaming “Mommy! Mommy!”.  It almost made me cry.  Then she went to each of the 4 workers and hugged them goodbye.  She told all the kids goodbye and even got one hug from a little boy.  As we walked down the hall back to the kitchen I asked her if she liked Bible School and she said, “yes, I like Biby School”.

I love seeing the independence in her but at the same time hate to see her growing up so quickly right before our eyes.  I love hearing good stories about how well behaved she is when she is out of our care.  Around here she is so spirited and loud!  I guess that’s just fine though as long as she knows what to do in public!

She was adorable in her little outfit from Aunt Carolyn.  (And Carolyn we got LOTS of compliments on it!)

OMG! She looks so grown up! I think I am going to cry. She does look so cute in brown and pinks. Wait till I bring her the latest swimsuit I bought for her. Pink one piece with a tutu! I can see her twirling in it already!
